Meadow Cottage is a detached holiday home, situated in the village of Irstead. Ideal for exploring The Broads, it is just a short walk to Barton Broad boardwalk which has trails through swamps and woodland, with resting places along the route, and leads to a surprise, panoramic view over Barton, which is the second largest of the broads. The neighbouring village of Neatishead has a lovely country pub serving food and a village community shop. The pretty village of Horning is just over 2 miles away with riverside cafes, pubs a selection of shops, as well as a riverboat, and for the children, there Is BeWILDerwood, an outdoor adventure park with zip wires and jungle walks. Wroxham, which is known as The Capital of the Broads, is just over 5 miles and here you can hire boats and explore the waterways. The coast is just short drive away. There are National Trust properties in the region which are well worth visiting or alternatively, spend a day in the fine city of Norwich, with its castle, cathedrals, museums, theatres and an excellent array of shops and cafes. Walking, fishing, cycling and birdwatching all available locally. Beach 10½ miles. Shop, pub and restaurant 1¾ miles.
