Close by you will find the seaside towns of Sheringham, with its bustling market and popular shingle beach, and Cromer, home to a famous Edwardian seafront, promenade, wide sandy beach and pier. Take the coast road between the two and pass through pretty seaside villages. In fact, travel east or west along this stretch of coast and you will find a string of coastal villages with great places to eat and drink, marshes, beaches and quays, all ready to explore. History buffs will be spoilt for choice with The Thursford and Muckleburgh Collections close by, the National Trust properties Felbrigg and Blickling Hall and Sandringham House, Holkham Hall and the medieval city of Norwich are all within easy reach. The National Trust Rhododendron and Azalea walk at Sheringham Park, in season, is one of the country’s finest. After a day’s sightseeing head back to Keeper’s Cottage for a glass of something in the garden or by the wood burner and a great night’s sleep. Beach 3½ miles. Shop, pub and restaurant 2 miles.
