Sitting pretty within the sought-after village of Thornage, in the heart of North Norfolk lies Ivy Cottage which is perfect for a couple or small family looking for somewhere traditional for their holiday. There is much to love about this detached property with its feature beams and country cottage styling, it offers open plan living in the cosy lounge and compact kitchen, a separate dining room and on the first floor there are two bedrooms sleeping four. There is a lovely garden in which to relax and unwind. Close by lies the stunning coastline, perfect for swimming and sunbathing in season and lovely walks with dog beaches in the area too, any time is the right time to let those paws go paddling. Visit Blakeney for a spot of crab-lining and then head to Wells-next-the-Sea with its picturesque quay, quaint mix of artisan shops and wide sandy beach bedecked with painted beach huts. Head East and visit the seaside town of Sheringham, home to North Norfolk Railway or just a little further to Cromer where you can enjoy a stroll along the promenade or onto the famous pier. Also close by lies the Georgian Market town of Holt which is packed with boutique cafes, restaurants, inns and shops. Locals flock here all year but especially coming up to Christmas to see the twinkling white fairy lights that are strung above the historic buildings. The Thursford Collection with its Christmas Spectacular is worth a visit too as is the Muckleburgh Collection, Sheringham Park, Pensthorpe Nature Reserve and Amazonia Zoo. You can be in the heart of the Norfolk Broads or in the medieval city of Norwich in under 50 minutes too, so this really is a great location for seeing all the highlights of Norfolk. Then you get to return to peaceful Ivy Cottage where you are certain of a great night’s sleep.
