Traditional resorts of Great Yarmouth, Cromer and Sheringham are a 40-minutes drive for sandy beaches and seaside attractions. Wroxham, capital of the Broads National Park is a 20-minutes drive, where you can hire a day boat to explore the miles of waterways. Why not try kayaking, canoeing or paddle boarding with equipment and lessons available. Or just simply sit back and relax onboard one of the many organised river trips. There is also a mainline train station and gauge railway station, model village, plenty of waterside restaurants, cafés, supermarket and shops. For the gardener, a visit to the 32 acres of garden at the Old Vicarage Gardens at East Ruston is a must. Golfers will enjoy Mundesley and the Royal Cromer golf course. National Trust properties nearby include Blickling Hall, Felbrigg Hall, Sheringham Park and Horsey Wind Pump. Visit Horsey Beach between December and February, and you may spot hundreds of grey seals and pups on the beach. Alternatively, visit the historical city of Norwich with its cathedral, theatres, museums, cobbled streets, array of shops, including two indoor shopping malls, cafés and inns.
