The glorious gardens have been sculpted over the years with ornate iron and glass greenhouses and a grand hedge maze which is popular with all ages. The Estate is rich with wildlife and birds. The local farmlands are grazed with cows, sheep and pigs. Wild Ponies and Red Deer can often be seen roaming the estate. The marshes are full of bird life such as Marsh Harriers and sometimes Red Kites, so be sure to bring your binoculars! The local Marina offers daily boat hire to explore miles of waterways of the Broads National Park.
Within the village is the pub serving good food, cycle hire shop, and yummy ice cream shop. Beccles is a lovely market town with supermarket, boutiques, eateries, host to local market days, with fresh produce and sea food, as well as many pubs and restaurants. Head over to the traditional seaside town of Great Yarmouth for its pier, promenade, fun fair and amusements. Wide sandy beaches can be found at Gorleston on Sea and South Beach at Lowestoft. There are also wild beaches at Covethite, Kessingland and Dunwich. Southwold, Aldeburgh, and RPSB Minsmere all within an hours’ drive.
