Ivy Cottage is located in a quiet, rural area and offers a haven of peace and tranquility. This traditional 16th century holiday cottage is located in the heart of Suffolk countryside. Previously it was two separate homes, but it has now been renovated into a stylish 3-bedroom house featuring two large living areas, both with wood burners which act as the main heating for the property.
Ivy Cottage is in the centre of the mid-Suffolk village of Metfield, which has an excellent community shop and a newly opened café/plant shop just 300 yards from the property selling hot food and has great views. It makes an ideal base from which to explore the quaint villages and market towns of Suffolk and Norfolk. The nearby market town of Harleston, 4 miles, has a wide range of shops, pubs and restaurants, or try Bungay for boat hire and antique hunting. In the other direction, Diss has an indoor swimming pool, gym, leisure centre, main line train station and golf course. In addition, it has some of the oldest buildings in the county. The Norfolk Broads at Beccles are 10 miles away, and beaches can be enjoyed at Southwold, Lowestoft and Great Yarmouth. The city of Norwich, 17 miles away, is also well worth a visit, with its castle museum, galleries and shops. After a day’s sightseeing, return to Ivy Cottage and cosy up in front of the fire. Shop 200 yards, pub and restaurant 3 miles.
