There is so much do and see locally. Explore the coast with its lovely sandy beaches, and the seaside villages have an array of amusement arcades, entertainment, ice cream parlours, cafés, pubs, restaurants and shops. Excellent walking routes available from your doorstep, and for those who enjoy cycling there are lots of great routes and trails to enjoy.
The seaside town of Great Yarmouth, with a 15-mile stretch of glorious sandy beach with a pier, has so much to offer, including a choice of entertainment, bowling, donkey rides, wax world, model village, a fairground for both adults and small children with adrenaline rides, crazy golf, a water park and much more! Deck chairs are available for hire and even boat trips to visit the seals at Scroby Sands. The central beach hosts a fireworks spectacular each Wednesday during the summer season. Please note some activities have seasonal openings. The town centre has a shopping mall and market square, making it a great place for seeking fresh fish, seafood and fruit. As well as this there are supermarkets and a train station close by.
Quayside is home to Time and Tide museum and Nelson’s museum. Thrill seekers are also sure to enjoy a day out at Pleasurewood Hills Theme Park at Lowestoft. For a change of pace, visit Thrigby Hall Wildlife Gardens and take the tiger walk across the treetops, if you dare! Nearby Caister Castle features a classic car museum, or a day at the races gives you the option of both horse and dog racing. The city of Norwich, recently voted one of the top five cities to visit in the UK, has a Norman castle and numerous museums, galleries, and theatres. Local activities great for children are BeWILDerwood at Horning, the Sea Life Centre at Great Yarmouth, Roar Dinosaur Park at Lenwade, and Banham Zoo. There are a host of great places to eat and drink available locally. You are also close to the Norfolk Broads National Park, where you can drift along these famous waterways by either chartering your own day launch or joining an organised tour.
