The beautiful River Wensum winds its way through the village and offers great fishing for all the renowned species. Busy market town of Dereham, 7 miles, with shops, market square, supermarkets, bowling alley, cinema, sports and leisure club, cafes, pubs and home to The Mid-Norfolk Railway, that operates steam hauled and diesel trains during the summer months. City of Norwich, 15 miles, for shopping malls, theatre, castle museum, cathedral, art galleries, cafes, restaurants and pubs. Wroxham, capital of the Norfolk Broads, 20 miles, for waterside restaurants, cafes and daily boat hire and river trips. Excellent sandy beaches, RSPB Nature and Bird Reserves under an hour’s drive.
