Flat 1 Garden View is a first-floor apartment in Lowestoft, on the seafront. It's one of four flats in a big, old listed building. The name is a bit misleading. You can see a slice of the garden from the front windows, but the main view is of the sea and the traffic on Marine Parade. You get the sound of the waves, which is nice, but also the sound of the road.
It sleeps six, but that's in one bedroom and the living area. The bedroom has a double bed, and in the lounge there's a double sofa bed and two single chair beds. It's a decent size for a family, but it's all one open space except for the bedroom. One bathroom with a shower over the bath. The kitchen is part of the living area too. It's a 3 Star place, so it's clean and functional, not luxurious.
The building has some character. Big high ceilings. The stairs up to the flat are the original ones, so they're a bit steeper and narrower than modern ones. There's a small communal garden at the back that you can use.
You're right on the seafront. The beach is a two-minute walk across the road. It's a long, sandy beach. Part of it is dog-friendly all year. There's a shop, a pub, and places to eat about five minutes' walk away.
Lowestoft is a proper seaside town. It has two piers and the usual arcades and stuff. Pleasurewood Hills theme park is just outside town. Africa Alive wildlife park is nearby too. If you want a quieter, posher day out, Southwold is about a twenty-minute drive up the coast. Norwich is an hour away by train, and the train station is a ten-minute walk from the flat.
For things to do, the Suffolk Coast & Heaths Area site is useful. The National Trust for the Suffolk Coast has good walk ideas.
What's here: WiFi, TV, washing machine, an enclosed patio area. Bedding and towels are included. There's a cot if you need one. You can bring up to two dogs. The shower has grab rails.
