The Haven is on a residential street in Lowestoft. It's about five minutes walk from the main beach. You can see the sea from the top floor.
It's a big Victorian house. Sleeps fourteen, seven bedrooms, three bathrooms. It's got a 4 Star rating, which means it's well equipped and comfortable. We've recently done it up, but kept the original features like the stained glass door and the high ceilings. It feels spacious.
The garden is enclosed. There's a large patio out the back with furniture. You get parking on the drive for a couple of cars.
Inside, there's an entrance hall for coats, a dining room, and two separate living rooms. One is more of a sitting room. The stairs are normal house stairs.
The kitchen has a dishwasher and washing machine. There's WiFi. Bedding and towels are included. We've got a cot, highchair, and stairgate if you need them. You can bring up to two dogs.
You're a few minutes walk from Kensington Gardens. That's got tennis, bowling, a boating lake, and a tearoom. The beach is sandy and award-winning. The town centre, with shops, restaurants, and pubs, is a short walk away. Lowestoft harbour and the South Pier are nearby.
If you want to explore, the Suffolk Heritage Coast is about twenty minutes south. Places like Southwold and Aldeburgh. The National Trust Suffolk Coast has good walking routes. North-west of here, you've got the Norfolk Broads National Park, which is about a half hour drive. You can hire boats there.
For days out with children, Africa Alive wildlife park and Pleasurewood Hills theme park are both within fifteen minutes by car. Norwich is about forty minutes away by train or car. The train station is close.
