The Studio is in Hoe. It’s detached, so you’re on your own, and it’s tucked behind our house. It used to be an artist’s studio, so the main room has a big floor-to-ceiling window. It lets in a lot of light and looks out over the fields.
It’s for two people. One bedroom, one bathroom. It’s a 3 Star place, so it’s comfortable and clean but not grand. We’ve got solar panels and the electricity is all from renewable sources, which is nice to know.
You’ve got your own patio area. There’s parking right there. WiFi, TV, towels and bedding are all included. There’s a shower, not a bath.
The village is quiet. There’s a shop and a pub about a mile and a quarter away. For a bigger shop, Dereham is two miles. It’s got a few supermarkets.
If you like walking or cycling, there are plenty of paths right from the door. Hoe Common is nearby. For a day out, Gressenhall Farm and Workhouse is less than two miles away. The Mid Norfolk Railway is in Dereham too.
It’s a good base for seeing things. Norwich is about half an hour’s drive. The north Norfolk coast is about 30 minutes away. Wells-next-the-Sea is good for the beach and harbour. Holkham, Stiffkey, Titchwell Marshes and Cley are all up that way for birdwatching and big skies. The Broads are about 40 minutes in the other direction.
