The Old Rectory Lodge is in Yaxham, just outside Dereham. It's a one-bedroom place, sleeps two. It's a wing of the old rectory, which is our house, so we're next door. You've got your own entrance and a private drive.
It's a 4 Star place, which means it's well kept and comfortable. Everything's on the ground floor, which is handy. It's been done up inside, so it's light. The bedroom and bathroom are through from the living area.
You get a private, enclosed garden with a patio and a barbecue. There's parking right outside. We've got bike storage if you need it. It's all very quiet here, just next to the church.
The village has a local pub that does food, about half a mile away. Dereham is two miles off. It's a proper market town with supermarkets, an indoor pool, a cinema, that sort of thing. The market's on Tuesdays and Fridays.
For trains, the Mid Norfolk Railway is just down the road in the village. You can get a heritage train to Wymondham or Dereham.
For days out, Norwich is about half an hour's drive. The north Norfolk coast, with the beaches and the RSPB reserves at Titchwell or Snettisham, is within an hour. The Broads are about the same. There's good walking on the Peddars Way and Norfolk Coast Path. National Trust Norfolk Coast has details on some of their properties like Blickling or Felbrigg if you're planning trips.
We allow one well-behaved dog. All bedding and towels are included. There's a cot and a highchair if you need them.
