Glen Cottage
Glen Cottage is attached to our house here in Westfield, which is just outside Dereham. It's a one bedroom place, sleeps two. It's got a 4 Star rating, which means it's comfortable and well looked after.
The cottage is on the edge of Dereham, so it's quiet and rural but you're only a few minutes from the town. Dereham has everything you need: shops, supermarkets, cafes, a couple of pubs that do food, a cinema, and a leisure centre with a pool. It's handy.
You can walk straight out from the door into the lanes and fields. The area is part of Breckland, which is good for cycling and riding too. It's mostly flat.
If you want the coast, it's under an hour's drive north. Wells-next-the-Sea is popular, with the beach and the pine woods. Blakeney is good for seals. The National Trust Norfolk Coast page has details on all the beaches and reserves. Norwich is about half an hour the other way. It's a proper city with a castle, cathedral, shops, and the market.
One dog is welcome. There's a bit of land to the side for exercise, and they can use our garden path if the weather's bad and you need to clean them up. The stairs inside the cottage are a bit steep, just so you know.
Facilities: there's a patio garden with furniture, parking, Wi-Fi, a TV, dishwasher, and bedding and towels are included. We can put a cot in the bedroom if you need one.
