Maytree Cottage
Maytree Cottage is near Dereham in Norfolk. It's detached, built by Potton, so it's a modern house made to look traditional. It sleeps ten, which is a lot, so it's good for big families or groups. There are four bedrooms but just the one bathroom. Something to be aware of.
You get there down an unmade road. It's a bit bumpy but it means the place is quiet and secluded. The garden is all yours.
It's got a 4 Star rating. Everything works and it's well kept. There's a woodburning stove for winter, and it's got things like a dishwasher and a washing machine. Bedding and towels are included. We can provide a cot, highchair, and stairgate if you need them. You can bring up to two dogs.
For a shop, a pub, or a restaurant, you're looking at about a quarter of a mile. Dereham town centre is a bit further. It's a proper market town with supermarkets, a golf course, a cinema, and a leisure centre with a pool. All that stuff is handy to have nearby.
The Mid-Norfolk Railway is about half a mile away. They do regular trips and a Polar Express thing at Christmas. It's about an eleven mile run through the countryside.
For a day out, Norwich is within half an hour. The castle and the shopping are good. The coast at Wells-next-the-Sea is about a 40 minute drive. The National Trust has a lot of places along that coast if you like walking or beaches.
That's about it. It's a solid, spacious house in a quiet spot, but you're not cut off from things you might need.
