There is a multitude of established footpaths that lead right from the door, and will take guests on a journey through some of the most spectacular scenery that this Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty has to offer. The many footpaths lead right through Swaledale, Wensleydale, Arkengarthdale and beyond. There is a bike centre a short walk away where you can hire bikes, or just enjoy a coffee and the surroundings. The popular market town of Reeth offers many amenities including a weekly farmers’ market, local pubs, shops and tea rooms.
Smaller villages and towns nearby include Gunnerside, Keld, Thwaite and Fremington. There are many excellent local pubs, restaurants and country inns which provide the perfect resting place, before, during or after a long walk or cycle. A little further afield, but still within easy driving distance, there are many popular attractions to visit for all ages including Castle Bolton, Swaledale Folk Museum, Theakstons Brewery, Wensleydale Creamery and The Forbidden Corner.
