The Lodge @ East Neuk Orchards
The Lodge is in Arncroach, which is in the East Neuk of Fife. It's a detached bungalow, so everything's on one level. That's useful if stairs are a problem for you. It looks out over the Gillingshill Reservoir and the woods around it. It's very quiet.
It sleeps four. Two bedrooms, both with their own ensuite bathrooms. It's a 5 Star place, so it's comfortable and well-equipped. There's underfloor heating and a wood burner. The garden has a patio with seating. You can see the reservoir from there.
The setting is rural. You're on the edge of the grounds of Gillingshill House. You can walk around the estate, but you'll need proper boots as there aren't proper paths. It's good for birdwatching. The reservoir has coots, grebes, that sort of thing.
For a proper walk, Kellie Castle and its gardens are about a mile and a half away. They have a tea room. The Fife Coastal Path is about four miles away in Pittenweem. That's a proper fishing harbour. You can buy fish fresh off the boats there, or just get an ice cream and watch the boats. Anstruther is along the coast too, same sort of thing.
St Andrews is about twenty minutes by car. That's where the university is, and the golf. Plenty of shops, cafes, and the beach.
Facilities wise: it's all included. Washing machine, dishwasher, WiFi, TV. There's parking right there, and an electric vehicle charger. We can provide a cot and highchair. You can bring up to two dogs.
