The Hideaway is in Anstruther, up the hill from the harbour. It's an end-terrace house. You get parking right outside on the street, which is handy.
It sleeps six. Three bedrooms, but there's only one bathroom, which has a shower. It's a 4 Star place, so it's comfortable and well-equipped. The stairs are steep, honestly. They're proper cottage stairs and they go between the two main floors. You need to be careful on them.
Out the back there's a little sunny courtyard with a seat. Up at the front, by the street, there's another spot you can sit and look out over the rooftops to the water.
Anstruther itself is a proper working harbour. You can wander down for a coffee and watch the boats. The fish and chip shop is famous. There are a couple of sandy beaches minutes away, good for kids or a walk. The Fife Coastal Path runs right through the town if you want a longer walk.
St Andrews is about nine miles up the road. That's where the golf is, the Old Course and all that. They've got more shops and places to eat there too.
For facilities, it's got what you need: washing machine, dishwasher, WiFi, TV. Bedding and towels are included. We can provide a cot and highchair. One well-behaved dog is welcome.
If you're planning trips, the Fife Coastal Path site is useful for walks. For history, National Trust for Scotland has info on St Andrews Castle and other sites.
