St Andrews is on the harbour in Pittenweem. It’s a fisherman’s cottage that looks straight out to sea. You can watch the boats come and go from the upstairs window.
It sleeps four in two double bedrooms. Both have their own bathrooms. The rating is 4 Star, it’s comfortable and well looked after. The stairs are standard cottage stairs.
You’re right in the middle of things. There’s a pub about fifty yards away, a restaurant even closer. The shop is a few minutes’ walk. The beach is just along the harbour.
The back garden is a sunny courtyard. It’s got the old hooks on the wall where they used to hang nets. There’s an outhouse with a sink for washing off sandy things or golf clubs. There’s a storage cupboard inside for that too.
Golf is easy. St Andrews is about ten miles away. There are more than twenty other courses within that sort of distance. The Fife Coastal Path goes right past the door for walking.
You can get boat trips from Anstruther, the next village along, to the Isle of May to see the puffins. Edinburgh is about an hour’s drive if you fancy a day in the city.
For facilities, it’s got a washing machine, dishwasher, WiFi and a woodburning stove. Bedding and towels are included. No pets.
