South House
South House is in Lathones, a small village in Fife. It sleeps six. Three bedrooms, two bathrooms. It’s got a 4 Star rating.
It was built in 1887 as the village church. The conversion is solid. It's warm and comfortable.
There’s an Aga in the kitchen. The dining table is big, good for spreading maps out. The living room is upstairs, under the old roof. It’s got a wood burner and vaulted ceilings. The stairs up there are standard, not too steep.
The garden looks out over fields. It's enclosed, so it’s secure.
The village inn is a couple of minutes walk away. They serve meals.
St Andrews is about a ten minute drive. You’ve got the university, the beach, and the golf. There are plenty of cafes and shops there. The Fife Coastal Path is nearby for walks.
Anstruther is along the coast. You can get boat trips from there to the Isle of May to see seabirds and seals, mainly in the summer months.
Facilities: there’s parking, a washing machine, a dishwasher, WiFi, and a cot and highchair if you need them. Bedding and towels are included. It’s wheelchair accessible at the entrance, but you’d need to check the internal layout if that’s a key requirement.
