Burnside West Cottage is in St Andrews, but not right in the middle. It's in the grounds of a hotel, about a mile or so from the town centre. It's one of a pair of lodges, with fields around it. The cottage looks out over a burn, which is just a small stream.
It sleeps four people. Two bedrooms, each with its own bathroom. That's quite handy. It's got a 4 Star rating, so it's well-equipped and comfortable.
You're welcome to use the hotel's facilities. There's a restaurant and bar you can walk over to. They also have bikes and e-bikes you can borrow, which is useful for getting into town.
St Andrews itself is a few minutes' drive, or a pleasant walk. All the things you'd expect are there: the university, shops, cafes, and the famous golf courses. The Old Course is about a mile away.
For beaches, the West Sands is a long, wide beach you can walk to. The East Sands is smaller and more sheltered. If you want to explore further, places like Crail and Anstruther are along the coast within half an hour.
At the cottage, you've got a full kitchen, a washing machine, parking, and WiFi. Bedding and towels are included. You can bring up to two dogs.
We sometimes rent it with the other lodge next door and a bigger one nearby if a larger group is coming.
