Burnside East Cottage is just outside St Andrews, in the grounds of the hotel. It's a self-contained lodge, one of a pair. You get your own space and parking.
The cottage has two bedrooms and sleeps four. There's one bathroom with a shower. It's got a 4 Star rating, which is good. It's clean and well-equipped, not a grand place but comfortable.
The view from the front is over fields and a little stream. It's quiet.
The main thing is the location. You're about a five minute drive, or a twenty minute walk, into the centre of St Andrews. So you're out of the busy bit, but it's very easy to get in for shops, cafes, or the university. The Old Course and other famous golf links are right there.
You can use the hotel facilities. That means you can pop over for a meal or a drink at the bar without having to drive. Their restaurant is good if you want a night off from cooking.
You can connect this cottage to the one next door if you're a bigger group. We also have another property, Kinness Lodge, on the same estate.
The kitchen has a dishwasher and washing machine. Bedding and towels are included. There's a cot and highchair if you need them. We accept up to two dogs.
For things to do, St Andrews has everything: the coast, the ruins, the beaches. Crail and the East Neuk fishing villages are a short drive away. For wider planning, the National Trust for Scotland St Andrews page is useful, and so is Visit St Andrews.
