The Rest
The Rest is a ground floor flat in St Andrews. It's in a quiet cul-de-sac of bungalows, about a 15-20 minute walk from the town centre. It's all on one level.
It's for two people. One bedroom with a kingsize bed, and an ensuite shower room. The living space is open plan with the kitchen. It's got a 5 Star rating, which means it's well finished and everything is new and in good order.
You've got your own little patio garden out the front with a table and chairs. Parking is right outside the door.
The bed is very comfortable. There are two big TVs. The kitchen has a coffee machine that froths milk. Wi-Fi is strong. The welcome basket has tea, coffee, and some biscuits.
It's about a 25 minute walk to the West Sands beach, or 20 minutes into the middle of town. The Old Course is just over a mile away. For other courses, the St Andrews Links site has all the details.
In town you've got the castle and cathedral ruins, which are run by Historic Environment Scotland. The British Golf Museum is good even if you're not a golfer. There are plenty of places to eat and drink.
If you want to drive, Crail and Anstruther are nice for a fish supper. The National Trust for Scotland's Kellie Castle is about half an hour away. Dundee, with the V&A museum and RRS Discovery, is about 40 minutes.
Facilities: there's a washing machine, a travel cot and highchair if you need them, and all bedding and towels are provided. No pets, sorry.
