Burnside
Burnside is in St Andrews. It's detached, so no one else on the other side of the wall. It looks out over a wooded bit with a burn at the bottom. It's quiet.

You can walk into town in about twenty minutes, along the Lade Braes path. That takes you right to the middle of St Andrews. The shops, places to eat, and the Byre theatre are there. The golf courses are there too, all six of them.
There's a shop and a pub about a mile away. Craigtoun Park is nearby, which is good if you've got kids. It's a big park with things to do.
For a day out, you can drive to the East Neuk fishing villages like Anstruther or Crail in under half an hour. Dundee is about thirty minutes away. The V&A museum is there.
