Set in a tranquil farming hamlet close to Talkin Tarn, this former traditional stone built farm building is comfortably furnished throughout. It retains many features including the beams in the living area with large feature window, and living flame gas fire making a cosy base from which to explore the local and wider area. The kitchen/dining area is split level with 7 steps up to the dining area. A further short staircase leads to the first floor with 3 bedrooms, a double, a twin and a single. A family bathroom with shower over the bath completes the picture.
One of a row and boasting its own garden and patio this converted barn is well situated to enjoy Hadrian’s Wall, the North Pennines and southern Scotland. The town of Brampton is 2 miles and offers restaurants, shops and inns.
The area affords good walking opportunities with golf, fishing and sailing all found within a mile. The city of Carlisle is 11 miles and offers a good selection of shops and Carlisle Castle, a medieval fortress, is well worth a visit. Travel back in time and discover key events through the castle’s history. A little further afield is the coastal town of Silloth, once a popular Victorian seaside resort, with a beach, large village green and handful of shops. Stroll along the promenade and take in the views over the Solway Firth to Dumfries and Galloway in south west Scotland. About an hour away is Kielder Water and Forest, also worth a visit. Shops, pub and restaurants 2 miles.
