Rose Cottage is in King's Meaburn, a few miles from Appleby. It's a small, two bedroom place. Sleeps three. It’s got a 4 Star rating.
You come in through a little front garden with a low wall. There are a few stone steps up to the door. Inside, the kitchen has a Belfast sink and tiles on the floor. It's got what you need. The living room has a wood burner. There's a TV and the wifi is decent.
Upstairs there are two bedrooms. One has a double bed, the other a single. Both have beams, so mind your head if you're tall. One bathroom, with a shower over the bath.
You can bring two dogs. The garden is enclosed, but it's not huge. There's parking for one car on the gravel next to the cottage.
The village is quiet. The White Horse pub is about a five minute walk and does food. There's a coffee shop you can walk to across the fields in Morland.
Appleby is the nearest proper town for shops. It's about ten minutes in the car. Penrith is about twenty minutes away if you need bigger supermarkets or the train station.
For days out, you're close to the Lake District and the North Pennines. Ullswater and Pooley Bridge are maybe a twenty-five minute drive. Lowther Castle is about twenty minutes away. If you like walking, the Aira Force waterfall is a good route. The Lake District National Park site has maps and ideas.
Facilities are all there: dishwasher, washing machine, towels and bedding included.
