Elbeck House is a one-bedroom cottage in Litton, North Yorkshire. It's a Grade II listed farmhouse suite, which is just a way of saying it's old and has a certain feel to it. It's for two people.
The place is all on one level, mostly. You go in through a small boot area, which is handy for muddy boots. The main room is open plan with the lounge, bedroom and dining area. There's a wood burner. You go up a small step to the kitchen at one end, and up another small step to the bathroom at the other end. The bathroom has a shower.
Outside, there's a private, enclosed garden with a table and chairs. There's a hammock too. A public footpath runs along the river right next to the garden, so you can step straight out for a walk.
The village pub is about a five minute walk. It's a proper local. Litton itself is very quiet. It's in the Yorkshire Dales National Park. The views up the dale are the main event.
For walks, you can head straight out from the door. Arncliffe is two miles down the valley. Grassington is about nine miles away and has a few more shops and cafes. Skipton, which is a market town, is about fifteen miles.
In terms of what's here, it's got the wood burner, wifi, TV, parking, and all the bedding and towels are included. There's bike storage if you need it.
If you're looking for information on the area, the Yorkshire Dales National Park site is useful. For local history, English Heritage has places like Bolton Castle within a drive.
It has a 4 Star rating. We don't take pets. You can book it with the cottage next door if you're a group of four.
