Lower Whinhill

Lower Whinhill is a detached house on the Lonemore road, about a mile outside Dornoch. It's a modern build. It sleeps six, with three bedrooms and three bathrooms. That makes it pretty handy for a family or a group.

The main thing is the view. You look straight out over the Dornoch Firth. There aren't any houses in the way. It's quiet out here. You can walk into Dornoch town centre in about twenty minutes, or drive it in three.

You've got a large, enclosed garden all to yourselves. There's parking on the drive. The house has a 4 Star rating, which means it's comfortable and well-equipped.

There's direct access into Camore Woods from the north side. Right across the road is an area called the Lochans. You can hire fishing rods there for trout, or use the pitch and putt and driving range. You can also get down to a good sandy beach from there.

Dornoch itself has the cathedral, a few shops, places to eat, and the famous Royal Dornoch Golf Course. For a bigger day out, you're well-placed for exploring the north Highlands. Golspie, Tain, and the Falls of Shin are all within half an hour by car.

It's a dog-friendly house. We allow up to two pets. We include bedding and towels. You'll find a washing machine, dishwasher, Wi-Fi, and things like a cot and highchair if you need them.

For planning trips, the North Coast 500 site is useful, as is the National Trust for Scotland.
