Half Pint is in Tain, up in the Scottish Highlands. It's a holiday cottage made from a shipping container that’s been done up inside. It’s detached and sits on its own plot.
It says it sleeps four, but it’s just the one open-plan bedroom with a double and two singles up in a mezzanine. So it's all in one room for sleeping. There's one bathroom with a walk-in shower. It's got a 4 Star rating.
The main thing is, if you're looking for a normal house, this isn't it. It's a container. That means the space is quite compact and the ceilings are low in places. The stairs up to the sleeping area are more like a ladder, really. It's fine if you're alright with that, but it's not for everyone. There's a wood burner, which heats the place up well.
Outside, there's a small patio with a table and chairs. It's private. You can bring one dog.
Tain itself is a quiet town. There's a local shop and a couple of pubs that do food. For a proper beach, Dornoch Beach is about ten minutes in the car. The Glenmorangie Distillery is on the edge of town if you want a tour. Royal Dornoch Golf Club is famous and is only a fifteen minute drive.
In terms of facilities, it’s all there for a basic stay: TV, wifi, parking, a washing machine. Bedding and towels are included.
