Academy Street Cottage is in Tain, in the Highlands. It's an old stone cottage, built in the 1700s. It's on a quiet street right in the middle of the old town.
It sleeps four. There are two bedrooms: twins downstairs and a double upstairs. There's one shower room, upstairs. The stairs are narrow and turn a corner, which is normal for a place this age. The living room has a woodburning stove. The kitchen door opens out to a small, walled garden at the back.
Tain itself is a proper old town. It's quiet because the main road goes around it now. There are a few good places to eat and some interesting local shops. Greens does decent food. The golf course here is a nice one, designed by Old Tom Morris. It's not as famous as some others, but it's a good track.
You're well placed for other courses. Royal Dornoch is about ten miles up the road. Golspie and Brora are a bit further north. If you're driving the NC500 route, you join it easily from here. The coast is about ten miles away for beaches. Inverness is roughly 40 minutes south by car.
The cottage has a 4 Star rating. It's got WiFi, a TV, and a washing machine. Bedding and towels are included. Two well-behaved dogs are welcome. The garden is enclosed. There's on-street parking outside.
