Darna House
Darna House is near Hilton, which is just south of Tain. It's a detached, modern house built for holiday lets. Sleeps eight, four bedrooms, two bathrooms. It's got a 4 Star rating, so it's well-equipped and comfortable.
The main room is open plan. Kitchen, dining, living area all together. There are bi-fold doors that open out to a patio with some cover and outdoor seating.
One bedroom and a shower room are on the ground floor. That room has a super king bed. Upstairs are three more bedrooms and a family bathroom. Two of those can be set up as either twins or super kings, the other is a twin.
You're off a quiet road, so it's peaceful. But you're right on the NC500 route, so it's a straightforward spot for exploring. Tain is about a mile away for shops. There's a supermarket, and a good butcher and baker.
The coast is close. Portmahomack has a sandy beach. Dornoch is about 15 minutes north by car. Shandwick Bay is good for rock pools. If you play golf, Tain Golf Club is very nearby. Royal Dornoch is about a 15-minute drive.
For a day out, you can get the summer ferry from Nigg across to Cromarty on the Black Isle. In Tain, the Tain Pottery and Anta are worth a look if you like crafts.
What's here: parking on the drive, enclosed garden, BBQ, WiFi, TV, washing machine, dishwasher. Bedding and towels are included. No pets, sorry.
