Darna House
Darna House is near Hilton, which is a small place just outside Tain. It's a detached, modern house. It's on a normal residential street, but it's quiet and looks out over fields.
It sleeps eight. Four bedrooms, two bathrooms. One bedroom and a shower room are downstairs, the rest are up. Two of the king-size rooms have beds that can be split into twins if needed. It's got a 4 Star rating, so it's well-equipped and comfortable.
The living area is all open-plan. Big table, comfy sofas, and those bi-fold doors that open right up. There's a covered bit outside with seating, so you can sit out even if it's drizzling. The garden is fenced.
You're about a mile from Tain. There's a Co-op there, and a good butcher and baker. Plenty of places to eat if you don't want to cook.
Location-wise, it's straightforward. You're right off the NC500 route, so it's easy to head north or south. The beach at Portmahomack is about ten minutes away by car. Dornoch is fifteen minutes north. If you play golf, Royal Dornoch is up there, and Tain has its own course too.
For a day out, you can get the ferry from Nigg over to Cromarty on the Black Isle. It's a short crossing. The National Trust for Scotland has sites further afield, like Glencoe, which is about an hour and forty minutes' drive.
Facilities: it's got everything you'd expect. Washing machine, dishwasher, WiFi, TV, parking for a couple of cars. Bedding and towels are included. No pets.
