Forester's Cottage is near a small hamlet called Tarbat Mains, in the Scottish Highlands. It's a single-storey cottage, so everything is on one level. It used to be the forester's home for a big estate here. It's quiet. You can see trees from the windows.
The cottage sleeps five people. There are three bedrooms and one bathroom. It's got a 4 Star rating, which means it's comfortable and well-equipped. The garden is enclosed, which is good if you're bringing dogs. You can have up to two pets.
There's a woodburning stove, which is nice on cooler evenings. The kitchen has a dishwasher and a washing machine. Bedding and towels are included. The WiFi usually works, but it's the countryside, so it can be slow sometimes.
You can walk straight from the cottage into the woods. The paths go down to the Cromarty Firth. There's a big colony of seals there, you can often see them from the shore. For a day out, the Black Isle is close by. It's got nice little fishing villages like Cromarty and Rosemarkie. The beach at Rosemarkie is good.
Golf is about five or six miles away, at Tain. If you like hill walking or mountain biking, you're in the right place. Inverness is about a 40-minute drive for shops or a cinema.
