Southview Barn is a barn conversion on the edge of Barnard Castle. It's detached, so it's just you and the garden. The view from the back is over fields, hence the name.
It sleeps up to six, but there are two double bedrooms. That means people will be on the sofa beds in the living area. It's a 4 Star place, so it's comfortable and well kept. All the rooms are on the ground floor, which is handy. Underfloor heating throughout.
The living area is open plan. Big glass doors open onto the patio. There's a wood burner. Kitchen has a breakfast bar. The bathroom has a large walk-in shower. There's a separate toilet as well.
Barnard Castle town is about a 15-20 minute walk away. There are shops, pubs, and the castle itself. The Barnard Castle site is English Heritage. The Bowes Museum is close by too, that's worth a visit.
For walking, you can pick up the Teesdale Way nearby. High Force waterfall is about a 20 minute drive. The North Pennines AONB is on the doorstep.
Facilities: parking on the drive, WiFi, a washing machine, a TV. Bedding and towels are included. You can bring up to two dogs. There's a BBQ in the garden.
