Mill Force Cottage is in Bowes, County Durham. It's a single-storey cottage that sleeps two. Next door to the main house, but it's all private.
It's got a three-star rating. That means it's clean and comfortable, not luxury. Everything is on the ground floor, and there's a step-free entrance.
The living room looks out over a meadow. The kitchen has what you need. The bedroom is a good size with a double bed and an en-suite bathroom.
You've got your own garden area. You'll see the owner's chickens wandering about, and there are pigs in the field beyond. Past the cottage there's a camping field you can use for a picnic, the sunsets there are good.
The local pub is about a hundred yards away. They do food. The village of Bowes is a short walk, it has the ruins of a 12th-century castle keep.
Barnard Castle is the nearest proper town, about four miles. It has a castle, shops, and the Bowes Museum. For bigger walks, you're on the edge of the North Pennines and close to the Yorkshire Dales. High Force waterfall is about a twenty-minute drive. Raby Castle is a bit further.
In terms of what's here: there's a TV, WiFi, a washing machine, and parking. Bedding and towels are included. We can provide a cot. The place is wheelchair accessible at the entrance, but please check with us about specifics if you need to.
