The Old Chapel is in Briscoe, in Baldersdale. It's a single-storey bungalow, so everything's on the ground floor which is handy. It used to be a chapel, so you've got those arched windows. You get a decent view out over the moor from the patio.
It sleeps two. One bedroom, one bathroom. It's got a 4 Star rating. It's comfortable and clean. We leave a welcome pack with some local bits for you.
The patio is enclosed, so it's safe if you bring a dog. You can bring one well-behaved dog.
It's very quiet out here. The North Pennines are an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The night skies are dark, good for seeing stars. The Pennine Way is on your doorstep for walking. Barnard Castle is about six miles away. It's got the castle, shops, places to eat, and the Bowes Museum.
A pub and a cafe are a couple of miles down the road. Fishing and golf are available locally if that's your thing.
For a day out, Beamish Museum is under an hour's drive. The Yorkshire Dales and the Lake District are also within about an hour.
The place has a washing machine, dishwasher, TV, and WiFi. Bedding and towels are included. There's parking right outside.
