Yarker Lane Cottage

Yarker Lane Cottage is in Mickleton, right up in the far top corner of County Durham. It's a converted barn, so it's detached and you've got your own space. The conversion left it feeling pretty big inside, which is good for six.

It sleeps six, across three bedrooms. There's one bathroom. The rating is 3 Star, which is correct. It's comfortable and clean. You'll see the stone walls from the barn, and there are Velux windows in the bedrooms so they're light.

The garden is enclosed, which is handy. There's a patio area with a barbecue. You can park right outside.

The local pub, The Robson Green, is about a ten minute walk away. They do good food. The nearest shop is a couple of miles away in Middleton-in-Teesdale, so you'll want to bring your main shop with you.

You're right in Upper Teesdale here. The views from the cottage are over open fields. It's very quiet. If you like walking, you can start from the door. High Force waterfall is about a fifteen minute drive. The North Pennines Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty is all around you.

For a day out, Barnard Castle is roughly twenty minutes by car. You've got the castle itself and the Bowes Museum. A bit further, maybe thirty five minutes, you can get to the Yorkshire Dales National Park. To the east, Durham City is about forty minutes.

Inside, you've got a washing machine and a dishwasher. Bedding and towels are included. There's WiFi. We allow up to three well-behaved dogs.

If you're planning walks or visits, these sites are useful: North Pennines AONB and Yorkshire Dales National Park.
