Belle Vue House
Belle Vue House is in Eggleston, up in Teesdale. It's my family's old house. We did it up a few years ago.
It sleeps six. Three bedrooms, two bathrooms, one's an en-suite. It's got a 4 Star rating. It's comfortable, not posh.
The kitchen's new and decent sized. There's a conservatory out the back that gets the sun. The garden's enclosed, so it's safe if you're bringing a dog. You can have one pet.
Eggleston is a small village. There are two pubs that do food. There's also a nice café in the grounds of Eggleston Hall. For a proper shop, you'll need to go to Barnard Castle, about four miles.
You're right on the edge of the North Pennines. Good walking from the door. High Force waterfall is about four miles away. Hamsterley Forest is good for a bike ride, about a twenty minute drive.
Barnard Castle has the Bowes Museum, which is worth a look. Durham city is about half an hour south. For the coast, Saltburn is about an hour's drive.
Facilities are all there: washing machine, dishwasher, WiFi, TV. Bedding and towels are included. There's a cot and highchair if you need them. Parking for two cars on the drive.
If you've got a bigger group, the cottage next door, just called Belle Vue, can be booked with it.
