Belle Vue is in Eggleston, right on the edge of the village. It's a two-up two-down terrace cottage, so quite compact, but it's just for two people. You get the whole place and the garden to yourselves.
It sleeps two, one bedroom, one bathroom. It's a 3 Star cottage, so it's clean and functional. The walls between the terraces are solid, but you can hear normal living noise from next door sometimes.
The kitchen is all new, with decent appliances. There's a small conservatory off the back that gets the sun in the afternoon. The garden is enclosed, mostly lawn, with a couple of chairs.
Eggleston has two pubs, both serve food. There's also a good café at Eggleston Hall, which has nice gardens. You're right on the edge of the North Pennines Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The walking from the door is excellent.
Barnard Castle is about four miles away. That's where you'll find the main shops and the Bowes Museum. High Force waterfall is about a 20-minute drive. Hamsterley Forest is good for cycling and walking, about 25 minutes.
Durham is within half an hour for the cathedral and a city day out. The coast, like Saltburn, is about an hour's drive.
Facilities: there's a washing machine, WiFi, TV, on-site parking. Bedding and towels are included. One well-behaved dog is welcome.
