The Dovecote is our place in Romaldkirk. It's a converted barn, detached. We live next door but you'll have your own space and garden. It gets good sun.
It's for two people. One bedroom, one bathroom with a shower. It's got a 4 Star rating. That means it's comfortable, with decent finishes. It's quiet.
The village is small and peaceful. There's an award-winning pub about five minutes' walk away. They do good food. The nearest proper shop is in Barnard Castle, about ten minutes by car.
It's good for walking. You can step out the door and be on public footpaths straight into the dales. The Teesdale Way goes right through. For a decent walk with a payoff, you can park at Bowlees Visitor Centre and walk to Low Force and High Force waterfalls.
Barnard Castle is about six miles. It's a market town with shops and cafes. The Bowes Museum is there and is worth a visit. Raby Castle is about twelve miles away, you can see the deer park. Durham is roughly thirty miles if you want a day in the city.
For facilities: there's a washing machine, TV, WiFi, and parking right outside. Bedding and towels are included. The garden is enclosed. No pets.
