Cross Keys Farm is in Boldron, near Barnard Castle. It's a bungalow, so everything's on one level. That makes it a good option if stairs are a problem.
It sleeps seven in three bedrooms, with two bathrooms. It's a 4 Star place, which means it's comfortable and well looked after. The main living area looks north, so you get a long view over the fields. It's a nice view.
The furniture is what you'd expect: comfy sofas, a dining table, a wood burner. The kitchen has a dishwasher and a washing machine. There's a hot tub on the patio out the back, facing that view.
You can walk to the local pub through the fields. It's about a ten minute walk. Barnard Castle is a couple of miles away. It's a small town with shops and cafes. The castle ruins are there, and the Bowes Museum is worth a visit.
You're right on the edge of the North Pennines here. The walking is good. High Force waterfall is about a 20 minute drive. For a big day out, the Yorkshire Dales are maybe 40 minutes away, and the Lakes are just over an hour.
Facilities: Everything's included – bedding, towels, electricity. There's parking. You can bring one dog. We've got a cot and a highchair if you need them.
