Old Stables Cottage is in Neuadd Cross, up in the hills between Cardigan and Newcastle Emlyn. It's part of a small group of cottages that used to be the outbuildings for a big old house. The house itself isn't there anymore.
It sleeps six, in three bedrooms. There are two bathrooms, which is handy with that many people. It's got a 4 Star rating. It's been done up nicely. You've got wooden beams and some slate walls on show. The stairs are a typical cottage staircase.
The main living space is open plan, kitchen and sitting area together. There's a wood burner for cooler evenings. The garden is enclosed, which is good if you've got dogs or kids. There's a built-in barbecue out there.
You're properly in the countryside here. It's quiet. Cardigan is about a ten minute drive for supermarkets, a few restaurants, and things like that. Newcastle Emlyn is a bit closer, maybe seven minutes. It's a small town with a castle ruin by the river.
Cenarth Falls is just down the road. If you go when the salmon are running, you can see them jumping. The Welsh Wildlife Centre in Cilgerran is nearby too, along the River Teifi.
The coast is about half an hour's drive. Mwnt is a lovely little beach. Poppit Sands is bigger, good for walks. Aberporth is another option. The Pembrokeshire Coast National Park starts at Cardigan, so you can pick up the coastal path from there.
Facilities are pretty covered: WiFi, TV, washing machine, dishwasher. Bedding and towels are included. There's parking right outside. You can bring one dog. We've got a cot and a highchair if you need them.
