The Coach House

The Coach House is on the Glaneirw Estate, just outside Tan y groes. You turn off the lane onto a private drive lined with beech trees. It's detached and quite big, sleeps nine in five bedrooms. There are three bathrooms and a downstairs loo.

It's a 5 Star place, which means it's been done to a high standard. Flagstone floors, high ceilings, that sort of thing. It's been renovated but they kept a lot of the original features. The beams are low in some doorways, just so you're aware.

There's a separate lounge with a TV, which is handy if you've got kids with you. The garden is quiet, just fields and trees. You might hear a woodpecker. There's a covered outdoor area with a table and a ping pong table in the games room.

You're about three miles from the Ceredigion Coastal Path. The beach at Tresaith is a couple of miles down the road, it's a nice sandy cove. For a bigger beach, you can drive to Aberporth or New Quay in about fifteen minutes. Cardigan town has shops and a castle, that's about ten minutes by car.

A small shop is a ten minute walk away, it's open early until late. There are a few good restaurants locally, but you'll need to drive to most of them.

Facilities: parking for several cars, WiFi, washing machine, dishwasher. Bedding and towels are included. It's wheelchair accessible at the entrance. No pets, I'm afraid.

Useful links: Visit Ceredigion for local info, and National Trust Wales for places like Llanerchaeron, which is about a twenty minute drive.
