The Cottage is on our farm, about a mile outside the village of Tan y groes. It’s a detached stone building we converted. You’ll be on your own, but we live on site so we’re around if you need anything.
It’s for two people. One bedroom, one bathroom. It’s got a 4 Star rating, which means it’s comfortable and well-equipped. Everything is on the ground floor and the entrance is wheelchair accessible.
The farm is 48 acres. We have Shetland ponies, alpacas, donkeys, goats, and some poultry. Kids are welcome to come and say hello to them. We’ve also got a barbecue hut you can hire from us while you’re here, if you fancy it.
You’re a five minute drive from Aberporth and the coast at Cardigan Bay. The local shop and pub are about a mile away. Cardigan town is about fifteen minutes by car for bigger shops.
For beaches, Penbryn is lovely and is looked after by the National Trust. New Quay is a fifteen minute drive up the coast. You can sometimes see dolphins from the harbour there. Aberaeron is a bit further, maybe twenty five minutes. It’s a smart harbour town with good places to eat.
If you like walking, you’re right near the Ceredigion Coast Path. For a historical day out, the ruins of Cilgerran Castle overlook the Teifi Gorge and are worth a visit.
Facilities: there’s a washing machine, WiFi, and TV. Bedding and towels are included. We can provide a cot and highchair. There’s bike storage in the barn and parking right outside. You can bring up to two dogs. There’s an electric vehicle charger.
