Troed Y Rhiw is a barn we converted on our smallholding just outside Aberporth. It used to be the cow shed. It's detached and on one level, with a ramp to the front door, so it works well for wheelchair users.
It sleeps four, but it's one bedroom with a double and two singles. One bathroom, which is a wet room. It's got a 4 Star rating. It's clean and modern, but we kept some character bits like the old Belfast sink. The main room has big folding doors that open right onto a raised patio.
You're on a farm, so it's quiet. The beach at Aberporth is about a mile away. You can walk it in 15 minutes through a bit of woodland to join the coastal path. It's a dog-friendly beach. We've seen wallabies along that path, from a nearby collection. And we've got emus here on the farm.
In Aberporth village, a short walk, there's a shop, a couple of dog-friendly places for food and a pub. For other beaches, you'll want the car. Mwnt is about ten minutes north, it's a beautiful cove owned by the National Trust. Penbryn and Llangrannog are within 20 minutes. Cardigan is fifteen minutes for bigger shops.
Facilities: there's a dishwasher, washing machine, wifi, and a BBQ. The garden is enclosed. There's a Dutch barn round the back for storing bikes or wet coats. Bedding and towels are included. You can bring up to two dogs. There's parking right outside.
