Troed Y Rhiw is an old stone barn on our smallholding just outside Aberporth. We converted it a few years ago. It’s detached, so it’s just you and the garden, which looks over the fields.
It sleeps four. There’s one bedroom with a king-size and a set of bunk beds, and one bathroom with a wet room shower. It’s got a 4 Star rating, which means it’s well-equipped and comfortable. The whole place is on one level, with a ramp to the front door, so it works well if you have mobility issues or use a wheelchair.
The main room has big bifold doors that open right up onto a raised patio. It’s a good spot. There’s a stained glass window high up at one end from an old Welsh chapel. The kitchen has a Belfast sink and a dishwasher. We’ve left a Dutch barn round the back for bike storage and there’s a covered washing line in there too, which is useful.
You can walk to the coast path from the garden gate. It takes about fifteen minutes down to Aberporth beach, which allows dogs. You might see the wallabies that live in the woods along the way. The local shop, a couple of takeaways, a café and a dog-friendly pub are also within walking distance.
By car, you’ve got all the Cardigan Bay beaches nearby. Penbryn, Tresaith, Mwnt and Llangranog are all within a twenty minute drive. For a longer stretch of sand, Poppit Sands is about half an hour. The coastal path is right here if you want to walk it.
In terms of what’s here: there’s a BBQ, an enclosed garden, parking, WiFi, and a TV. Bedding and towels are included. We can provide a cot and highchair. We allow up to four well-behaved dogs.
