Owls About is a lodge on a small holiday park near Cenarth, in Carmarthenshire. It used to be family run but recently changed hands, so some details about facilities might be a bit out. It's a cedarwood lodge, detached, surrounded by trees. It feels private.
It sleeps six, with three bedrooms and one bathroom. Everything is on the ground floor, which is useful. It's got a 3 Star rating. It's clean and comfortable, but not fancy. The decking area outside is good for sitting out.
On the park, there's a heated outdoor pool open in the summer, a kids' play area, and a big field. There's also a bar and a games room with pool tables, but it's best to check the current opening times as these things can change. You can park right by the lodge.
The hamlet of Cenarth is about a mile away. It's a nice walk down the lane. There are a couple of pubs there that do food, a café, and a small shop for basics. Newcastle Emlyn, which has a bigger supermarket, is about ten minutes by car.
You're well placed for days out. The Welsh Wildlife Centre at Cilgerran is ten minutes up the road. It's a good wetland reserve run by the Wildlife Trust of South and West Wales. Cardigan and the coast are about twenty minutes away. New Quay, where you can sometimes see dolphins from the harbour or on boat trips, is just over half an hour. For a proper beach day, the Pembrokeshire Coast is within about forty minutes. The Pembrokeshire Coast National Park site has walking info.
Facilities include a TV, washing machine, and WiFi. Bedding and towels are included. There's a cot and a highchair if you need them. You can bring up to two dogs. The lodge next door, Twit Too Woo, can be booked together with this one for bigger groups.
