2 Cilwendeg Lodge is in Newchapel, a hamlet just outside Boncath in Pembrokeshire. It’s a detached, stone-built lodge. It’s Grade II listed.
It sleeps four. There are two bedrooms and one bathroom. It’s a 4 Star property, so it’s comfortable and well-equipped. The stairs are standard, nothing unusual.
The lodge is in the grounds of the old Cilwendeg Estate. There are footpaths through the estate, past a working farm, which lead straight to the pub in Newchapel. That pub is about a 200 yard walk. It does food and local ales.
You have a private, enclosed patio with a barbecue and a hot tub. There’s also a games room. Inside, there’s a wood burner in the living area.
The estate has a Shell House, which is a Gothic garden building decorated entirely with shells and coloured glass. It’s quite a sight. It’s open to visitors on Thursdays from April to September.
For beaches, you’re looking at about a 20 to 30 minute drive. Newport Sands, Poppit Sands, and Mwnt are the main ones. The nearest bit of the Pembrokeshire Coast Path is also about that drive away.
Boncath village, which has a shop, is about a mile and a half away. You’ll see plenty of buzzards and red kites around here.
Facilities are all there: parking, wifi, washing machine, dishwasher, cot and highchair if needed. Bedding and towels are included. No pets, sorry.
