The Sidings

The Sidings is in Willoughby, Lincolnshire. It used to be part of the railway yard. It's a detached bungalow, so no stairs at all inside.

It sleeps five in three bedrooms. Two bathrooms, both with showers. It's got a 5 Star rating. That means everything is in good order and works well.

The living room has a big extension part. There's a piano in there if anyone plays. We keep the Aga off in the summer, but you can use it from October to April if you want. There's a £50 charge for that, just to cover the fuel.

It's got its own enclosed garden with a decent patio. Good for sitting out or eating in the sun.

The village pub is a ten minute walk. They have food and sometimes do family events. Alford market town is about three miles away. They have a market on Tuesdays and Fridays. The manor house there is old, from the 1600s.

The coast is about ten minutes by car. Sandy beaches. Skegness, Mablethorpe and Sutton-on-Sea are all nearby, within half an hour. Fantasy Island and Butlins are in that range too if you've got kids.

Louth is a Georgian market town, also half an hour away. That's the proper gateway to the Lincolnshire Wolds for walks. You can also walk or cycle from the cottage door.

The National Trust's Gunby Hall is a ten minute drive away.

For facilities: it's got a washing machine, dishwasher, TV, WiFi. Bedding and towels are included. There's on-site parking. There's a woodburning stove for colder times. Sorry, no pets.
