Dovecote Annex is in Mablethorpe, in a quiet residential street. It's at the bottom of our garden. It's a peaceful spot.
It's an annex, not a whole house. It's just for two people. One bedroom, one bathroom. It's got a 4 Star rating, which means it's well equipped and comfy. The entrance and shower are wheelchair accessible, which is good to know if you need that.
The main living space is open plan. There's a conservatory bit at the back which looks onto the garden. You might see the doves, which is where the name comes from. It's a really sunny spot to sit.
It's got WiFi, a TV, a washing machine, and parking right outside. All the bedding and towels are provided.
You're about a mile from the beach and the town centre. That's a 20 minute walk or a very short drive. Mablethorpe is a proper traditional seaside town. It's got a long sandy beach, the usual amusements, and fish and chips.
If you drive, you can see a lot. Donna Nook is about 20 minutes away. In the winter, you can see the seals with their pups from the viewing area. It's quite a thing. The Lincolnshire Wildlife Trust has the details.
Other places along the coast like Sutton on Sea or Anderby Creek are also close. They have nice beach cafes. Skegness and Fantasy Island are about half an hour south if you want more entertainment.
Inland, the market towns of Louth and Alford are worth a trip. Alford has a working windmill. There are plenty of flat walking and cycling routes around here, some you can pick up from the door.
For planning wider days out, the Lincolnshire Coastal Countryside site is useful.
