Coal House

This is Coal House. It's a detached cottage, part of a small group of converted barns. You're not right on each other's doorstep, but they're nearby. It's in St Ishmael, near Carmarthen Bay. Very quiet.

It's got a 5 Star rating. It means things are new and in good order. It sleeps six people in two bedrooms, plus a sofa bed in the living area. There's one bathroom. It's had a thorough renovation, so it's very clean and modern inside. The layout is open plan. There are original stone walls and beams.

The stairs are fine, not too steep. It's got a woodburning stove, which is nice in the cooler months. The garden is enclosed, with a patio area and a BBQ. You can bring one dog.

You're about a ten minute drive from the beach at Ferryside. Pembrey Country Park is about twenty minutes away, that has a huge beach and bike trails. The nearest shop is in Kidwelly, about two miles away. There's a pub that does food about three quarters of a mile down the lane.

Kidwelly Castle is just up the road. Laugharne, where Dylan Thomas lived, is about a twenty minute drive. It's a nice place for a walk and a coffee. The National Botanic Garden of Wales is about half an hour away. For a bigger day out, you can get to the Gower or the start of Pembrokeshire in roughly half an hour.

Things you might need to know: it's all on one level except for the bedrooms, which are upstairs. There's parking right there. It has a cot and a highchair if you're bringing a baby. All the bedding and towels are included. There's a washing machine and a dishwasher.
