Coal House

Coal House is a detached barn near St Ishmaels, Carmarthenshire. It's one of five on the site. They're spaced out, so they've all got separate gardens and you're not right on top of the others. It's just back from the coast, between Ferryside and Kidwelly.

It sleeps six. Two bedrooms and one bathroom. It's got a 5 Star rating, which means it's finished to a high standard and the facilities are all new. It's all on the ground floor and is accessible for wheelchairs.

The main thing to know is the bedrooms. They're both double rooms, but one has a double bed and the other has bunk beds. That means they're not typical doubles, so you need to be happy with that layout. There's also a double sofa bed in the living area.

Inside, it's open plan. There's a wood burning stove. It has a dishwasher and a washing machine. Bedding and towels are included. There's parking right outside.

You can bring one dog. It's got an enclosed patio garden.

The local pub and a restaurant are about three quarters of a mile away. The nearest proper shop is in Kidwelly, about two miles.

You're a five minute drive from the beach at Ferryside. Pembrey Country Park and its long beach is about a 20 minute drive. Further along, you've got all the Pembrokeshire beaches. The Gower Peninsula, which was the first Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, is also within an hour.

Kidwelly Castle is very close. Laugharne, with Dylan Thomas's Boathouse, is about 15 minutes by car. The National Botanic Garden of Wales and Aberglasney Gardens are both within half an hour. Ffos Las racecourse is 15 minutes away.
