Wheelwright Barn is in Pant yr Athro, just outside Ferryside. It's a converted barn, so it's tall and open inside. There are big windows and doors that look straight out across the River Towy. You get a very clear view down to the water and over to Llansteffan.
It sleeps eight people in four bedrooms. Every bedroom has its own bathroom, which is useful. The main one has a four-poster bed. The stairs are okay, but they're open tread and a bit steep, like you'd expect in a barn.
There's a big open plan kitchen and living area on the ground floor. It has a wood burner for cooler evenings. The kitchen floor is slate, and there's an old slate slab built into it. Outside, there's a hot tub on the patio and a private swimming pool in the garden. It's for your use only, not shared.
You can walk down to Ferryside village in about 20 minutes. It has a pub, a chip shop, a small shop, and a station. The beach is shingle and sand. The Wales Coast Path runs right past the property gate if you want a longer walk.
Kidwelly Castle is about ten minutes by car. It's a good one to visit. For a big beach day, Pembrey Country Park is roughly 20 minutes drive. They have a huge sandy beach, woods, and a dry ski slope.
In terms of what's here: all bedding and towels are included, there's a washing machine, dishwasher, a cot and highchair. There's parking right next to the barn. Sorry, no pets allowed.
