Ty-Canol

Ty-Canol is in Broadlay, which is a hamlet just inland from Ferryside. It's a group of converted farm buildings. The main one is built from an old longhouse. They're solid. Good local builders did the work.

It sleeps up to thirteen people. Six bedrooms, each with its own bathroom. It has a 4 Star rating, which covers the basics well and it's all in good order. It's a big space for a big group.

The buildings are on a bit of a hill, so you get the views. There's a shared field for dogs and a kids' play area on site. The place is right on the old road that pilgrims used to take to St David's.

You've got a local shop and a pub about half a mile away. The pub does meals. Ferryside itself is quiet. It's got a beach and a train station.

For things to do: Kidwelly Castle is about ten minutes by car. Pembrey Country Park is the same sort of distance. That's got a big beach, bike hire, and an adventure playground. The Millennium Coastal Path runs for miles along there. If you fancy a day out, the botanic gardens and Laugharne, where Dylan Thomas lived, are roughly half an hour's drive. The Pembrokeshire coast is about forty minutes.

Inside, you've got a wood burner, a dishwasher, washing machine, TV, and Wi-Fi. All the bedding and towels are there. There's on-site parking and bike storage. You can bring up to three dogs. We leave a cot and a highchair there too.
